Hello and welcome to Dating a Football Fan the blog.  I started this blog because I was unable to find a positive reference source for coping with dating someone who loved football.   Before starting to date my fan I knew little or nothing about the game.  I come from a predominantly football-free family and though I had dated some football players in high school and have an ex or two who were fan’s of specific NFL teams, nothing in my history prepared me for my first season with my fan.   When I went looking for information, most sources I found either were so technical that I could not understand them or they objectified and bashed men.  I like men, I don’t want to talk about their “tight-ends” and I certainly do not want to degrade them.  I also want to show respect for a sport that has inspired so much passion and is the key to many family’s livelihoods.  So if you are looking for something positive to help you understand your fan and the sport they love, you have come to the right place.
